Fluoroscopy
Often described as an “X-ray movie,” fluoroscopy provides real-time, moving images of internal structures in motion.
- Dynamic Diagnosis: It is the gold standard for diagnosing conditions that involve movement, such as collapsing trachea, swallowing disorders, or gastrointestinal motility issues.
- Intraoperative Guidance: Surgeons use fluoroscopy (often via a mobile C-arm) to verify the exact placement of orthopedic implants, stents, or needles during a procedure without needing to stop for traditional X-rays.
- Minimally Invasive: It enables advanced interventional procedures, such as tracheal stent placement or pacemaker insertion, which can often replace the need for more invasive open surgeries.
